The 4th and 5th sectors are mainly handled at district level because of non-provision in our structure.

The 2 divisions of Mukono Municipal Council (Goma and Mukono Central Division) were previously agricultural hubs with vast farms doing animal and crop husbandry.

Today urbanization has led to an escalation of the cost of land fragmentation, land conflicts and land grabbing.

All these negatively impacted on production in Mukono Municipal Council as more people moved into business in the formal and informal sectors.

However farmers have adopted urban farming approaches to cope with the shrinking agricultural land although a few have managed to maintain the large acreage to stay in extension farming.

SYSTEMS USED IN MUKONO MUNICIPAL COUNCIL INCLUDE:

    • Zero grazing animals

    • Poultry keeping in houses
